A 42-year-old history teacher from Novi Sad has been arrested for possession and publication of child pornography recordings. The Serbian police said that the man is suspected of uploading and downloading a large number of photographs and audio and video recordings from the internet, that were made when children and minors were abused for pornography.

EULEX expected to react to license plates controversy
State Secretary for Kosovo Oliver Ivanović said Friday he expected EULEX to overturn the decision by the Kosovo police to ban Serbian registration plates. The KPS banned the use of the Serbian plates that denote locations in Kosovo, which have been issued by the Serbian police since the start of 2011.
Policeman shoots assailant dead
A Serbian police (MUP) officer has shot and killed a man in self-defense while responding to a domestic violence call in a Belgrade suburb. According to reports, neighbors reported that a 26-year-old man was armed with an ax, threatening to kill his mother.
Police union announces warning strike
The Police Union of Serbia has announced a one-hour warning strike for October 20 at noon. The union said that the decision came after the government ignored their demands to sign a special collective agreement that would bring salary increase, better equipment and legal protection to those employed by the Serbian police (MUP).

More charges filed in Oncology Institute case
Charges were filed today in Belgrade against Ivana Popović, the head of pharmacy at the Serbian Institute of Oncology and Radiology.

Man shot dead on street corner
A 51-year-old man was shot and killed on a street corner in the town of Zrenjanin, Serbian police (MUP) said. The victim, identified as Predrag Å ., was killed at around 21:00 CET on Thursday, when and unknown attacker fired several shots in his direction.
Man shot dead at intersection
A 20-year-old man was shot and killed at an intersection in the town of Inđija, north of Belgrade. Serbian police (MUP) identified the man as Aleksandar V.
Policeman saves woman from drowning
A Serbian police (MUP) officer in southwestern Serbia managed to rescue a woman drowning in the Lim River. Officer Boban Bojović jumped into the river when he saw a person floating in it, and carried her out of the water, MUP said in a statement.
Six dead in traffic accidents
Five people died while 59 were injured on Friday in 228 traffic accidents on Serbia’s roads, Serbian police (MUP) announced. Another victim was reported in an accident that happened near the town of Å abac on Saturday morning.

Police arrest 8 members of crime group
The Serbian police (MUP) officers arrested eight members of a criminal group that operated in several towns of Serbia and Bosnia. B92 has learned that police raided locations in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Loznica and Niš during the night and morning, to make the arrests.

The Serbian police (MUP) officers arrested Fatmir Arifi of KonÄulj, in southern Serbia, as they broke up a people smuggling ring. The ethnic Albanian is suspected of belonging to a group that smuggled Albanian citizens to EU countries.
Man arrested for planting bomb under luxury car
The Serbian police (MUP) Belgrade department said on Tuesday that a man was arrested on suspicion that he planted a bomb under a vehicle. The suspect was identified as Nebojša K., 31. Police detained him on charges of attempted murder and illegal possession and handling of arms and explosives.
Police interceptors prove “efficient”
A special traffic control unit set up by the Serbian police (MUP), know as “interceptors”, has had good results, officials say. The unit’s officers, driving luxury cars, are patrolling major roads in the country, and have in the past month introduced narcotics tests for drivers, says MUP Control and Traffic Regulation Department Chief Miroslav Rebić.
