More calls for independent organ probe

Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukčević says it “might be best” if the Kosovo organ trafficking probe were to be handled by “independent investigators”.
Vukčević spoke about a future investigation into organ trafficking allegations mentioned in Dick Marty’s report, adding that EULEX needs to be more effective in working on the case.

“Convicted Serbs should request retrials”

Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukčević has called upon the Serbs from Croatia convicted of war crimes to request retrials.

Prosecution dismisses Croatia claims

The Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office dismissed in a statement on Monday the claims about the country’s alleged list of 340 Croats wanted for war crimes. The alleged list contained the names of Croatian citizens who committed in the city of Vukovar, eastern Croatia, during the 1990s.

Arms trafficking accusations described as “racist slander”

Albanian PM Sali Berisha today in Tirana said a report linking him to arms smuggling in Kosovo was tantamount to “racist slander”. Belgrade daily Politika on Monday ran an article based on information it received from the Serbian War Crimes Prosecution, linking Berisha, then an opposition politician and former Albanian president, to selling arms illegally to the KLA in Kosovo in 1998.

Rich Arabs, Israelis bought Serbs’ organs

Serbian War Crimes Prosecution’s information shows that organs removed from civilians kidnapped in Kosovo were sent to rich countries, daily Politika reports.

According to the daily, the organs were delivered to Germany, Scandinavia, the U.S., Israel, Great Britain and other rich countries.

Surgeries to remove victims’ organs were performed at health centers and hospitals which used to treat KLA members during the war, daily Politika writes.

The daily has learned that these are some of the results of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecution’s investigation.

The Serbian War Crimes Prosecution has yet to decide on whether it would be appealing the decision of a London court not to extradite Ejup Ganić to Belgrade.

Deputy Prosecutor Bruno Vekarić said that he does not have any information on when the appeal would be filed, stating that it depends on the suggestions of the English prosecution that is representing Serbia in the case.
