Sands, Singapore law group settle conference dispute: Update

Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s Singapore casino resort and a lawyers’ group settled lawsuits over unpaid bills and compensation for a May conference, which marred the opening of the US$5.5 billion ($7.49 billion) complex.

The suits will be discontinued as part of an amicable, confidential settlement, Sands unit Marina Bay Sands Pte and IPBA 2010 Pte, the organizer of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association conference, said in a joint statement today.

Sands, Singapore law group said to settle unpaid bills dispute

Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s Singapore casino resort and a lawyers’ group agreed to settle lawsuits over unpaid bills and compensation for a May conference, said two people with direct knowledge of the decision.

A notice to discontinue the lawsuits probably will be filed by tomorrow, the people said, declining to be identified because the agreement isn’t public.
