Singapore stocks may open higher on Friday after Wall Street racked up a fourth straight week of gains overnight, but trading is expected to be sluggish as many traders are away on Christmas Eve.

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index dropped 0.2% to 3,137.78.

Silverlake Axis agrees collaboration deal with Hitachi Information Systems

Silverlake Axis says it has entered into a business collaboration agreement with Hitachi Information Systems (HIS), for the development and outsourcing of various financial and distribution systems.

Under the agreement, Silverlake Axis and HIS will form a business collaboration relationship to provide system architecture, network services and outsourcing services through Silverlake Japan (SJL), a fully-owned subsidiary of SAL, to prospective Japanese customers.

Silverlake Axis bags cards & logistics solutions contracts in China for $70m

Silverlake Axis has secured two new contracts in China for a total value of $70 million to provide cards (credit, debit and loyalty cards) and logistics IT solutions to HNA Group Co.

In the cards agreement, Silverlake Axis will grant the HNA Group a perpetual licence to use its card-processing software as well as implement and provide application support services for a period of five years for a total contract value of $20 million.

Former Sony Ericsson President Is Now Skype Chairman

Skype has made Miles Flint, former president of Sony Ericsson Mobile, its new chairman, and former Thomson Reuters exec David Gurle the vice president of its business unit. The new placements arrive in time for Skype to begin deploying video calls on HDTVs.

Flint is an adviser to the private-equity firm Silver
Lake, which in September purchased 70 percent of Skype from eBay for
approximately $2 billion.
