Microsoft announced on Jan. 19 that it would take its Bing Maps Silverlight site, which offers flashy additions such as Streetside and Enhanced Bird’s Eye, out of beta mode. As part of that transition from beta, Bing now includes two new features: Destination Maps, which let a user render a particular map in a stylistic manner (including European, Sketchy, American, and Treasure Map ), and Local Events, which shows what’s happening nearby a location on a particular day.
