Explosions in the Sky

Explosions In The Sky will
release its fifth album, titled Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, April 26 on Temporary Residence
Ltd. Recorded at Sonic Ranch in El Paso TX by John Congleton and produced by the band, Take Care, Take Care,
Take Care is the West Texas quartet’s first full length studio effort since 2007′s All Of A Sudden I Miss
Everyone. The record was mixed by Congleton at Austin TX’s Public Hi Fi studio and features artwork by
longtime visual collaborator Esteban Rey.

Tickets are on sale now for Explosions In The Sky’s biggest headlining show to date: April 6 at New York City’s famed
Radio City Music Hall featuring special guests Low and a first ever solo piano performance by Eluvium. The Radio City date is the first
confirmed stop on Explosions In The Sky’s forthcoming 2011 tour, whose UK/Europe leg commences May 16 in
Dublin and runs through May 25 in Amsterdam. Further dates will be announced as they are confirmed.

A second snippet of music from Take Care, Take Care, Take Care can be previewed at explosionsinthesky.com. A first 47-second sample appeared on the site
in conjunction with the announcement of the Radio City show.

Sky China Petroleum Services unit wins $16. …

Sky China Petroleum Services says unit Sky Petroleum Technology Development (Tianjin) Co. has won a RMB 85.28 million ($16.6 million) contract to build a 8,800 dwt vessel to carry refined oil. The vessel be built by Fansun Shipbuilding Co. at Wenzhou, China, and is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2012. The payment will be satisfied in cash, adds Sky China.

“To our dearest friends, the brothers and sisters of the C-Sky family,

After long hours of thought and with heavy but grateful hearts, we’ve decided to make the following announcement:
starting in January of 2011 we will be going on an indefinite hiatus. We’ve made some personal and collective
choices that have driven the decision, but we’re all in agreement that it’s time for us to step back from Cadillac
Sky.

This band has been an incredible journey for us. We’ve each been blessed to make music that we love for people
that we love even more. We’ve played in some of the greatest places a band could aspire to perform, stretched
ourselves creatively, and through it all have been supported by YOU. You’ve let us crash on your floors, fed us at
ridiculous hours of the morning, traveled miles to see us play and shared your stories and honesty with us. You’re
not just fans – you’re our friends, and you’re the greatest friends any band could hope for.

Know that none of this would have been possible without you. The door may be closing for now, but we’ll still be
making music and adding our individual involvement to many different and new projects. We’ll keep you up-to-date
on what we’re doing and what’s going on. New chapters are beginning to unfold and we look forward to you joining
us; you are why we make music.

SPH off 0.5%; 1Q in line, dividend yield supports

Singapore Press Holdings’ (T39.SG) is off 0.5% at S$3.96 with a modest 937,000 shares traded, within the $3.95-$3.99 range that the stock has moved in for the last 6 sessions, in a muted response to the groups’ 1Q earnings. 

UOB KayHian says the 1Q11 performance was within expectations. It notes, net profit declined 29% on year due to the absence of development earnings after the completion of Sky@eleven in 4Q10.

Dead blackbirds fall from U.S. sky

Explosions In The Sky has
confirmed its first headline shows in the UK and Europe since 2008. The 2011 tour will be the band’s first series of
shows anywhere since its four-city 10th anniversary trek in summer 2009.

The first dates to be announced commence May 16 in Dublin, run through May 25 in Amsterdam and include
Explosions’ biggest London headline to date at the 3000-capacity Roundhouse. Tickets for the May 16-25 shows
go on sale November 25.

The world-spanning tour precedes the release of Explosions In The Sky’s eagerly awaited new album, tentatively
slated for a spring 2011 release on Temporary Residence Ltd.

Bolide lights up sky over Serbia

Milan Jeličić of the Ruđer Bošković Astronomical Society says that a bolide was seen in the sky above Serbia last night.

“A bolide is a luminous meteorite which is more luminous than Venus and is accompanied by sound effects which are created as it disintegrates,” he explained.

On August 14 and 15, 2010 Phish played their 12th and 13th shows at Alpine Valley Music Theater – all 2-night
stands since 2003. The angles
all aligned on Saturday August 14 – the focus of the Alpine Valley DVD, which will be released in
stores and for
audio only download nationwide on December 14.

This box set features the complete August 14, 2010 performance on 2-DVDs, as well as 2-CDs, and bonus video
featuring highlights from the following night, August 15, 2010, including AC/DC Bag, Divided Sky and Stealing Time
From The Faulty Plan. The three-song combination that opened set two of the 15th rounds out the bonus material
with Ghost > Theme From The Bottom > Big Black Furry Creature From Mars.

The nearly three hours of music was recorded that night using 57 channels of digital multitrack and carefully mixed
and mastered in 5.1 Dolby surround and PCM stereo. The video was a 7-camera shoot (16:9 widescreen), recorded
and post-edited in High Definition.

Tiong Seng posts 53% fall in 2Q net profit to $6.7m

Tiong Seng Holdings, the construction group and property developer, today reported a 53% fall in net profit attributable to equity holders to $6.7 million for the second quarter ended 30 June 2010 (2Q2010) from $14.2 million in 2Q2009. Revenue fell 26% to $70.2 million from $94.8 million.

The group saw a year‐on‐year decrease in construction contract revenue to $64.0 million in 2Q2010 (2Q2009: $83.3 million) due to lesser work done for completed projects and projects close to completion such as the Capella, Tribeca, The Wilkie, Sky@11, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3 and Sentosa Integrated Resorts.

JPMorgan upgrades Singapore Press Holdings (T39.SG) to Neutral from Underweight, raises target price to $3.80 from $3.50 on stronger-than-expected 3Q results from rebound in advertising revenue and better rental income, says Dow Jones’

“Results beat JP Morgan and consensus estimates on the back of a stronger rebound in ad revenue, better rental reversion at Paragon, and slightly higher profit booked at Sky@Eleven. We note that revenue from core business recovered to the pre-crisis level with low operating costs,” house says.
