The Ministry of Economy has not reached an agreement with representatives of Zastava Automobili, the Kragujevac-based car manufacturer. The company will shut down after Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS), a joint venture of the Serbian government and Italian Fiat Group, took over its production line.

Kragujevac: First Fiat test car in late 2011
Reconstruction of the Fiat factory in Kragujevac will be completed in the first half of 2011, Fiat automobili Srbija Director Giovanni de Filippis said Sunday.
He added that the first test car for the new Fiat model would be produced by the end of next year.
Ministry hands over NIS shareholder list
The Ministry of Economy handed over the shareholder list of Naftna Indutrija Srbija (NIS) to its majority owner, Russia’s Gazprom Neft. The handover completing the last obligation the government had towards the company, the ministry has announced.
Fiat set to “take over Zastava at last”
A year and a half after a deal on cooperation and investment was signed between Fiat and Zastava, an annex to the contract will establish a joint company. Fiat Automobili Srbija (Fiat Automobiles Serbia) will be set up on November 10 in Kragujevac, according to media reports in Belgrade today, citing sources close to the Serbian government.
Tadić attends school opening in RS
President Boris Tadić was today in Pale, near Sarajevo, where he attended the opening of the “Srbija†(Serbia) primary school. The school was built as a joint project between the Serbian and the Republic of Srpska, RS, governments.
