Stamford Land’s 1H net profit after tax soars to $44.3m on favourable forex rate
Stamford Land Corporation, the operator of luxury hotels and developer of residential and commercial properties, says profit after tax increased 329.8% to $44.3 million for the half year ended 30 September 2010 (1HFY2011) from $10.3 million in 1HFY2010.
This was due to the favourable exchange rate for FY 2011 and fair value gains on investment properties. Hotels in Australia continue to perform strongly, with operating results for 2HFY2011 expected to be better than 1HFY2011.
Revenue fell slightly to $110.7 million in 1H11 from $111.0 million in 1H10.
NTA per share increased to $0.53 due to stronger A$ and NZ$ for investments in hotels and properties, with hotels conservatively valued at historical cost less depreciation.
A fair value gain of $47.3 million was recognised for the completion of Dynons Plaza in Perth.

Stamford Tyres posts net profit of $9.4m for FY2010
Tyre and wheel distributor Stamford Tyres Corporation reported a 833.2% rise in profit attributable to shareholders for the 12 months ended 30 April 2010 (FY2010) to $9.4 million from $1 million in FY2009.
Revenue increased 4.5% to $310.2 million on the back of increasing tyre sales for the group’s major and proprietary brands.
Stamford Land secures $42m, 3-year term loan facilicty
Stamford Land Corporation says the company and its subsidiaries have successfully secured a A$33 million ($41.8 million), 3-year term loan facility from CIMB Bank Berhad, Singapore Branch which will be used for the group’s working capital requirements.

Nine of Connecticut’s best rising bands are helping to raise money for the Red Cross Haiti relief effort. There will be a five dollar cover and donations of more accepted. All proceeds go to the Red Cross. The all day event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and will featuring Matt Rae Trio, Undercover, Twisted, The Uninvited, Mantyhose, Cadillac 9, All the Above, The Artie Tobia Band, Ten Feet Deep, Nick Depuv and Billy Foster.
The benefit concert will take place at Route 22 Bar & Restaurant in Stamford, CT.
Stamford Land posts 113% rise in 3Q profit after tax to $16.8 million
Stamford Land Corporation, the owner and operator of luxury hotels and developer of top-tier residential and commercial properties, says profit after tax increased by 113% to $16.8 million for the third quarter 2009/10 due from $7.9 million a year ago due to the absence of unrealised losses in current investments and lower finance costs.
Revenue edged up 1.3% to $182.4 million from $180.2 million as its hotels in Auckland and Adelaide continued to perform strongly.
Stamford Land Group secures $124m in financing facilities
Stamford Land Corporation says the company and its subsidiaries have successfully secured A$100 million ($124 million) in financing facilities including an A$80 million three-year cash advance facility from OCBC Bank and an A$20 million, three-year term loan and guarantee facility from ANZ Bank. The facilities are not expected to result in any material impact on the net tangible assets or earnings per share of the company, for the financial year ending March 31, 2010.
