Telekom starting price set at EUR 1.4bn

The Serbian government decided on Thursday to set the minimum starting price for the sale of its 51 percent stake in Telekom Srbia at EUR 1.4bn. The government tasked the Finance Ministry and the working group for conducting the tender for the sale of state-owned telecommunications company shares with informing all participants in the tender for the privatization of the Serbian company about the initial price.

Shui on Land said to meet credit investors starting Dec. 13

Shui On Land plans to meet credit investors in Singapore and Hong Kong starting from Dec. 13, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The real estate company hired Deutsche Bank AG, Standard Chartered Plc and UBS AG to help arrange the meetings, the person said, asking not to be identified as details are private. It may consider a sale of yuan-denominated bonds, whose coupon and principle would be settled in dollars, another person familiar with the matter said on Dec. 7.

Neste Oil says Singapore diesel plant ‘very close’ to starting

Neste Oil Oyj will soon begin making low-emissions diesel at a 550 million-euro ($762 million) plant in Singapore, ramping up production of a fuel that may provide a third of earnings in two years, a company official said.

“We’re very close to start-up,” Jarmo Honkamaa, deputy chief executive officer of Neste Oil, Finland’s only petroleum refiner, said yesterday in a telephone interview. “We’re well on time and within the budget” for the project, which uses plant and animal products as feedstock.

SGX launches corporate bonds for retail investors, starting with SIA

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today said that corporate bonds for retail investors will be available, for the first time, on SGX primary and secondary markets.

These corporate bonds, issued by SGX-listed companies and other organisations, will be traded in smaller denominations, making it attractive to the growing pool of retail investors in Asia. SGX offers an easily accessible, cost efficient and transparent bond market. Real-time prices as well as volume and price information will be made available on its website.

In this regard, Singapore Airlines has today announced an offer of $300 million in bonds due in 2015, a portion of which is to be offered to the public. The public offer will open on 22 September. This issue of corporate bonds will be tradable on SGX Mainboard on 1 October.

SGX to clear interest rate swaps starting October

Singapore Exchange (SGXL.SI) said on Monday it will begin clearing over-the-counter trades in financial derivatives in October as part of a plan to broaden its range of financial products.

SGX, Asia’s second-largest bourse operator by market cap, will start by clearing U.S. and Singapore dollar interest rate swaps, and it plans expand the service to include foreign currency options and forwards, SGX President Muthukrishnan Ramaswami told Reuters.
