Good enterprise-level security is not cheap, especially with new threats coming every day. However, in today’s economic times, when the U.S. economy seems even more unstable, security budgets have seen their share of slashing and burning as businesses look to save every dollar. Where does that leave the security professionals who watch the network? According to a new study by Information Security Leaders, the economy and focus on cutting budgets has left some security pros feeling underpaid. In a survey of 460 security professionals conducted earlier this year, almost half believe working as an IT security professional entitles them to more money than a similarly experienced IT pro. In addition, many security pros wrote that they are entitled to "a lot more."
