President sends condolences after terrorist attack

Serbian President Boris Tadić sent on Tuesday a telegram of condolence to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in the wake of Monday’s terrorist attack in Moscow. “The citizens of Serbia and I are deeply distressed by the loss of such a large number of lives. Please receive our deepest sympathy with the families of the victims and the people of Russia at this difficult moment,” reads the message released by Tadić’s press service.

Anti-Corruption Council writes to president

The Anti-Corruption Council sent on Tuesday a letter to Serbian President Boris Tadić specifying cases of corruption faced by foreign investors in Serbia.
The council asked for a meeting with Tadić to discuss the problem.

Tadić, Kosor discuss war crimes case

Serbian President Boris Tadić spoke with Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor about the case of Tihomir Purda, the Serbian president’s cabinet has announced. Tadić underlined during the discussion that “this and similar cases needed to be considered by the appropriate ministries and prosecutions in both Serbia and Croatia, respecting the legal systems of both countries.”

Dinkić “didn’t say what he said”

MlaÄ‘an Dinkić says Boris Tadić won his second term in office as Serbia’s president “partly thanks to the promises Dinkić made”.

The government minister, deputy PM and leader of G17 Plus and United Regions of Serbia parties told Belgrade daily Danas that his promise that each citizen would get EUR 1,000 in free shares propelled Tadić to victory in the presidential elections almost three years ago.

Tadić undergoes surgery in Belgrade

President Boris Tadić has undergone surgery on his left leg’s Achilles tendon at the Military Medical Academy (VMA) in Belgrade today. A statement from his cabinet said that the procedure went without problems and that Tadić was feeling well.

Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadić has stated that his party will not abandon the EU path.

Tadić to visit Croatia November 24-25

Serbian President Boris Tadić will pay Croatia an official two-day visit November 24-25, the president’s press service released on Monday. According to the Wednesday schedule, Tadić will first confer with Croatian President Ivo Josipović, after which he will have meetings with Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and Parliament Speaker Luka Bebić.

Tadić: Only DS competent to run country

Leader of the Democratic Party (DS) Boris Tadić said Saturday that the DS was not aware of any party that could administrate the state better than it does.

“When it becomes easy for those who are in power (to run the country) we may cede the control of the country to others. Until then, we certainly will not do such a thing,” he stressed at a session of the DS Main Board in Belgrade.

Tadić voiced Serbia’s stance in Vukovar

Serbian President Boris Tadić did not promote his own stand in Vukovar, but voiced that of the state of Serbia. This is according to a statement issued by the president’s cabinet on Saturday in Belgrade, which came “after certain reactions to Tadić’s visit in the Croatian public”.

President visits earthquake town

President Boris Tadić said the state will do everything it can to help people in Kraljevo and other areas affected by the earthquake. “The government will do everything it can to procure construction material, of which there is plenty, from storage facilities,” said Tadić who underscored that for now it is necessary to repair houses and apartments damaged in the earthquake.

Bosnian official: Better relations with Serbia

Bosniak member of Bosnian Presidency Bakir Izetbegović says that relations between Serbia and Bosnia are better after Srebrenica declaration was adopted.

He said that Tadić’s visit to Srebrenica and release of Ilija Jurišić had contributed to improvement of the atmosphere.

President’s cabinet confirms Croatia visit

The cabinet of the Serbian president confirmed on Tuesday in Belgrade that Boris Tadić will visit Croatia next week.
Tadić will travel to the Ovčara memorial near Vukovar, and to Paulin Dvor near Osijek.
