A Belgrade newspaper writes today that negotiations on Kosovo between Belgrade and PriÅ¡tina could start in March. Daily Večernje Novosti quotes unnamed sources in Brussels and says in an article published today that EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton’s associate Robert Cooper has been mentioned as a possible mediator.

Mufti talks St. Sava, “Sandžak autonomy”

Islamic Community in Serbia Chief Mufti Muamer Zukorlić says “Serb children will not be forced to celebrate Muslim holidays once Sandžak gains autonomy”. The leader of one of Serbia’s rival Islamic communities spoke in Novi Pazar, in Serbia’s southwestern region which that is home to a majority of the country’s Bosniaks (Muslims), as a ceremony to mark St. Sava’s Day was held in the town.

“We’ve been ready for talks for long time”

Assistant Foreign Minister Zdravko Ponoš says that Belgrade has been ready for months to begin talks with Priština without any prerequisites and done solutions.

“All scenarios are possible. We’ve been ready for months, we’re now waiting for Priština,” he told daily Press.

Iran nuclear talks end without agreement

Two days of talks on Iran’s controversial nuclear program have ended without agreement.

Cosco Corp. denies talks to take over shipyards from parent

Cosco Corp. Singapore, a shipbuilding and dry-bulk shipping company, said it has not received proposals from its Chinese parent Cosco Group under which it would receive a stake in Cosco Shipyard Group and take over all of Cosco Shipbuilding Industry Co.

Cosco Corp. said it isn’t in talks with Cosco Group about such a move, referring to an article in Singapore’s Business Times today.

Genting Singapore says in talks to buy Singapore Tech building

Casino operator Genting Singapore (GENS.SI) said that its subsidiary Resorts World Properties is in negotiations with Singapore Technologies to buy an office block.

The Business Times reported that Resorts World is expected to pay about $1,500 per square foot on the current net lettable area of 98,906 square feet or about $150 million.

Cosco Corp down; says not in asset talks

Shares of Singapore-listed shipbuilder Cosco Corp (Singapore) (COSC.SI) fell as much as 4.1 percent on Thursday after the firm said in a filing to the Singapore Exchange that it is not in talks with any party for an asset injection.

At 10:02 a.m., Cosco Corp shares were down 3.3% at $2.34 on a volume of 1.8 million shares.

Cosco says no plans, talks for asset injection

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says it has not received any proposal nor is it currently in any discussions with any party regarding a proposed asset injection.

The announcement was made in response to recent research reports which raised the possibility of a restructuring effort by parent company Cosco Group that would see it inject its 19% interest in Cosco Shipyard Group and its 100% stake in Cosco Shipbuilding Industry Company, which owns two shipbuilding yards in Nantong and Dalian, into the company.

“WTO membership talks could be complete in 2011″

Ballmer Talks 8 Million Kinect Sales, Windows Phone 7, Avatars

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer used his Jan. 5 keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show to focus on Xbox 360′s hands-free Kinect controller, Windows Phone 7 devices and how the next version of Windows will support ARM chip architecture. ARM chip designs dominate much of the burgeoning mobile market, where Microsoft rivals such as Google and Apple have already made substantial inroads with their own lightweight operating systems. Ballmer also showed off Surface 2, the next version of Microsoft’s table-sized touch-screen tablet. As expected, Ballmer spent much of his speech pointing out what he termed Microsoft’s successes: 8 million Kinect sales in the device’s first 60 days, 5,500 apps in Windows Phone’s applications storefront and an upcoming line of Windows 7 laptops that incorporate technologies like touch screens.
