Singapore targets $12-14b in fixed asset investments in 2011

Singapore expects to get $12 to 14 billion in fixed asset investment commitments this year as the global economic recovery continues and investors show increasing interest in Asia, the country’s Economic Development Board (EDB) said on Monday.
 
EDB said the city-state of 5 million people attracted $12.9 billion in fixed asset investment commitments last year, beating its forecast of $10-12 billion and surpassing the $11.8 billion in 2009.

Citi Ups palm planters targets; likes Indofood

Citigroup says “CPO prices will remain well-supported over the near-term, as 1Q is typically a seasonally weak production period, exacerbated by wet weather affecting harvesting in parts of Malaysia and Indonesia.” It says other positives for CPO include firm soybean prices (weaker production outlook), higher oil prices (raised its estimate last week to $90/bbl from $85/bbl).

Credit Suisse raises Keppel Corp’s (BN4.SG) target to $13.50 vs $12.10 and Sembcorp Marine (S51.SG) target to $6.20 vs S$5.80 as the brokerage remains Overweight on the offshore & marine sector.

It says market trends indicate that a new rig replacement cycle is possible and that newer generation rigs are increasingly required to enable conversion of more challenging reservoirs.

Citi ups targets for Keppel, Sembcorp Industries

Citigroup has raised its target prices for rigbuilders Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI) and Sembcorp Industries (SCIL.SI) and kept its "buy" ratings on both firms.

Citi expects Keppel to hit $12.80, from a previous target of $11.10, while it says Sembcorp Industries can rise to $5.60 from $4.73.
