Jade Tech posts first quarterly net profit of the year

Jade Technologies Holdings has reported a net profit of $1.6 million for its third quarter ended June 30, 2010 (3QFY2010), its first quarterly net profit this year. The company says this was achieved on the back of a turnover of $10.7 million for the quarter under review.

For the nine months to June 30, 2010 (9MFY2010), Jade showed a profit of $493,000 on a turnover of $15.1 million, after offsetting operational losses in the first two fiscal quarters.

C & O Pharma Tech inks $6.4m deal to sell antiviral drug ingredient

Mainboard-listed C & O Pharmaceutical Technology (Holdings) says it has secured a sales contract which will bring in revenue of RMB32 million ($6.4 million) in three years.

This involves the exclusive distribution of C&O-developed Cidofovir Dihydrate in the US.

C & O Pharmaceutical says the distributor will be responsible to seek United States Food and Drug Administration approval of C&O’s Cidofovir Dihydrate.

Surface Mount Tech narrows 1Q net loss to $1.2m

Surface Mount Technology says net loss attributable to shareholders for the three months ended 30 June 2010 (1QFY2011) narrowed to HK$6.6 million ($1.2 million) from HK$16.4 million in the corresponding quarter of the last financial year (1QFY2010).

Gul Tech posts 70% rise in pre-tax profit to $17.4m for 1H

Mainboard-listed Gul Technologies Singapore says it achieved 70% growth in consolidated pre-tax profit of US$12.7 million ($17.4 million) in the 1st half of 2010 (1H2010) compared to the corresponding period last year.

Amidst the economic recovery, Gul Tech says turnover improved 55.8% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Manufacturing Integration Technology has received new orders worth $8 million for one of its bestselling wafer-level die-sorting equipment; the C300i.

Nokia, Toshiba, HP, HTC, Lenovo and other tech companies rolled out in full force at a recent New York City event to show off a variety of both recently released and upcoming devices, including laptops and smartphones. Tesla Motors Preps IPO, Shows Off Google-Funded Tech

Tesla Motors is apparently preparing to go public, and as part of that effort has been circulating an "IPO roadshow" video that shows how future vehicles could be built using the companys electric-car technology. HP Buys Linux, Virtualization Tech from Phoenix

Hewlett-Packard will purchase assets owned by Phoenix Technologies, including HyperSpace, a Linux-based operating system that allows PCs to boot rapidly. Phoenix previously signed an agreement with Samsung to deliver instant on-off capabilities to netbooks. HP has been focused on acquisitions of late, particularly the April purchase of Palm for $1.2 billion.
