TTJ secures Singapore LNG Terminal and Lanxess Butyl Rubber Facility projects worth $31.5m

Structural steel firm, TTJ Holdings says it has successfully secured jobs totalling $31.5 million for two major petrochemical and oil and gas development projects located on Jurong Island — namely the $1.5 billion, 30-hectare Singapore LNG Terminal and the planned €400 million ($699 million) butyl rubber facility by Lanxess, the world’s largest manufacturer of synthetic rubber.

Singapore Airport Terminal Services rated ‘buy’ by Kim Eng

Kim Eng Research in a Nov 3 research report says: “SATS’ 2QFY Mar11 results were within expectations. Net profit rose 10.5% to $45.2 million but if the results were adjusted for $6.3 million in Jobs Credit aid that did not recur, profits would have grown by 31% y-o-y despite higher raw material and staff costs, as well as a $1.3 million forex loss from the weaker pound.

GPSChemoil secures $117m financing for Phase 4 fuel terminal project

GPSChemoil has announced that the financing of the construction of phase four of its storage terminal at Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, has been successfully arranged.

GPSChemoil is a joint venture company between Gulf Petrol Supplies LLC, a subsidiary of the Fujairah National Group, and Chemoil, one of the world’s leading suppliers of Marine Fuel.

also be playing in Louisville, KY on 10/29 and are proud to have The Louisville Youth Orchestra on hand to both
open and collaborate with the band.

Singapore to decide on LPG terminal by mid-2011

The Singapore government is expected to decide whether to build a dedicated liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) terminal in the city-state by the middle of 2011 as part of a plan to boost the competitiveness of its petrochemicals industry, a senior official said on Monday.

The terminal, to be situated on offshore Jurong Island, will allow companies to import greater quantities of LPG, which is used as a feedstock in the production of chemicals.

Lum Chang Holdings says its wholly-owned subsidiary Lum Chang Building Contractors haas been awarded a tender by Premium Automobiles to build an industrial development at Alexandra Road for a contract sum of $38.8 million.

Noble acquires stake in multi-commodity port terminal in Mexico

Noble Group (SGX: N21) announced the acquisition of a 25% stake in Terminales Portuarias del Pacifico (TPP). TPP has been awarded a tender to develop a multi- commodity terminal facility at Lazaro Cardenas Port, on the west coast of Mexico.

Noble signs deals to expand Botlek tank terminal capacity

Noble Group, the commodity supplier backed by China Investment Corp., signed an agreement to begin expansion of the Botlek tank terminal’s storage capacity in the Netherlands. Polimex-Mostostal S.A. has been awarded the contract to build the first phase of the expansion. Financing has been secured with Rabobank Rotterdam, Noble said in a statement to the Singapore stock exchange.

Samsung C&T wins bid to build Singapore’s first LNG terminal

Bloomberg says Samsung C&T Corp. won the bid to build Singapore’s first liquefied natural gas terminal, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore said.

The import terminal, costing $1.5 billion, will have a capacity of 3.5 million tonnes a year Operations will begin by 2013.

Bloombegr says the LNG project will help Singapore diversify its energy supply and reduce the risk of a repeat of gas supply cuts from Indonesia that caused blackouts in November 2003 and June 2004. Singapore currently buys its natural gas from neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia.

Nomura Research in a Feb 8 research report says: “SATS reported strong 3Q FY10 results, driven mainly by revival in demand for Singapore Food Industries (SFI). While the Dec-quarter for SFI is seasonally the best, the number is still a positive surprise (forming some 35% of our FY10 SFI estimates).

PEC wins maintainance contract for Jurong Island refinery

PEC, the homegrown plant and terminal engineering specialist which provides project works and maintenance services to the oil and gas, petrochemical, oil and chemical terminal and pharmaceutical industries in Asia and the Middle East, says it had signed a contract with Singapore Refining Company (SRC) to provide maintenance services for part of its refinery located in Jurong Island.

PEC Group awarded $245m oil terminal project works in Malaysia

PEC, the plant and terminal engineering specialist for the oil and gas, and petrochemical industries, says its subsidiary, Audex, has signed a contract worth US$174.5 million ($245 million) with ATT Tanjung Bin Sdn Bhd (ATB), to provide EPC works for an 841,000 cubic metre oil terminal for the storage of fuel oil, middle distillates and light distillates.

The oil terminal is located at Tanjung Bin within the Iskandar Development Region in Johor, Malaysia, and the EPC works are expected to be completed by March 2012.

Kim Eng Research in a Jan 5 research report says: “Tung Lok announced that they will operate and provide food & beverage services to 2 staff cafeterias at Resorts World Sentosa. However, we expect negligible impact on SATS as (1) we have not included potential contributions in our forecasts and (2) even if they had won it, we estimate the earnings impact to have been less than 1% of FY2010 forecast, assuming a staff strength of 10,000.

Aztech launches GPON200E4 optical network terminal with 1Gbps speed

Aztech Technologies, the homegrown manufacturer of broadband and home networking equipment, has launched the Aztech GPON200E4, an optical network terminal which supports fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks with 1Gbps download speed and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports.

Optical fibre access networks is set to replace copper wire networks in Singapore’s Next-Generation National Broadband Network enabling consumers to play HD video, voice and data across networks at ultra high-speed.

“Besides our home ground in Singapore, we are also targeting global telecom companies and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that support FTTH deployment, ” says Michael Mun, Group CEO and President of Aztech.
