Thai Sri Trang to raise $336m in Singapore IPO; shares skid: Update

Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA.BK), the world’s biggest rubber producer and exporter, plans to raise $336 million in an initial public offering in Singapore, according to a term sheet seen by Reuters.  
After a flurry of confusing statements on Wednesday, when the company first said it had scrapped the IPO because of unfavourable market conditions and then corrected itself, it set a price of $1.20 per share for the IPO.

Thai Sri Trang sets Singapore IPO price at $1.20

Thailand’s Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA.BK) said on Wednesday it had set its  Singapore initial public offering price (IPO) at S$1.20 per share, some way below the maximum price of $1.60 it had announced before book-building.

The company’s shares will resume trading in Bangkok at 11:30 a.m.

Thai bourse halts Sri Trang before S’pore news: Update

The Thai stock exchange suspended trading in rubber producer Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA.BK) on Monday ahead of the pricing of a Singapore initial public offering (IPO), which has depressed its share price in Bangkok.

The world’s largest processor of natural rubber is expected to raise up to $360 million through its listing on the Singapore exchange.

Singapore is a big centre for rubber trading and the company already has a subsidiary there.

Thai bourse halts Sri Trang before Singapore IPO news

The Thai Stock Exchange said it had suspended trading in Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl (STA.BK) on Monday ahead of an announcement on the pricing of its Singapore initial pubic offering (IPO) later in the day.

The company is expected to raise up to $360 million (through a listing in Singapore. 

 
The rubber maker has set the IPO price at maximum $1.60 per share, it said in a statement to the Thai stock exchange.

Thai Bumrungrad says Temasek sells stake

Thai Bumrungrad Hospital Pcl says Temasek Holidings Limited (TEM.UL) sold 42.67 million shares in the company on Friday which could be worth $54 million, Bumrungrad told the stock exchange. It also reported another shareholder sold 49.13 million shares in the company, but it gave no name for the seller. According to the Stock Exchange of Thailand’s website, the shares were sold at 30 baht ($1.265) each.

Thai Beverage 3Q net rises 19% to $97m on higher sales

Thai Beverage Pcl, Thailand’s largest brewer and distiller, said third-quarter profit rose 19% from the same period last year on higher sales. Net income rose to 2.23 billion baht ($97 million), or 0.09 baht a share, from 1.88 billion baht, or 0.07 baht, a year earlier, Thai Beverage said in a Singapore stock exchange filing today after the market closed.

Thai Air says Tiger share sale won’t affect alliance plan

Thai Airways International Plc said plans for a budget airline alliance with Singapore’s Tiger Airways won’t be affected by news that two big Tiger shareholders and its chief executive sold discounted shares in the budget carrier.

Tiger said this week that substantial shareholders Indigo Singapore Partners and Ryanasia, along with chief executive Tony Davis, sold 65.796 million Tiger shares at a discounted price of $1.90 in a transaction worth about $125 million.

Thai Airways reviewing Tiger alliance after share sale

Thai Airways International Plc said on Thursday it was reviewing plans for a budget airline alliance with Singapore’s Tiger Airways after two big Tiger shareholders and its chief executive sold discounted shares in the budget carrier.

Thai planter eyes $252m listing in Singapore: IFR Asia

Sri Trang Agro-Industry <STA.BK>, a Thai rubber planter, plans to raise as much as $252 million in a dual listing in Singapore, IFR Asia reported on Thursday.

The Thai group has launched a roadshow and is offering 280 million new shares at an indicative range of $0.79 to $0.90 a share, representing 22% of its enlarged share capital, IFR said.

Thai Air considering buying stake in Tiger Airways, Sathit says

Thai Airways International Pcl, the national carrier, is considering acquiring a stake in Tiger Airways Holdings after the two airlines agreed this week to jointly invest in a new budget carrier.
 
“The board sees that owning a stake in Tiger Airways Holdings will create the most benefit to the company,” Sathit Limpongpun, Thai Airways vice chairman, told reporters today in Bangkok.

Tiger, Thai Air take on AirAsia with Bangkok venture: Update

Tiger Airways Holdings, the budget carrier part-owned by Singapore Airlines Ltd., will start a low-fare airline in Bangkok, challenging AirAsia Bhd. in Southeast Asia’s busiest airport.

Thai Airways International Pcl and another local company will own 51% first quarter of next year, the carriers said in a statement. Tiger Air will own the rest. The venture will fly domestic and overseas routes of up to five hours.

Tiger Air, Thai Air join Asia’s growing budget market

Hoping to reverse a drop in market share, flag carrier Thai Airways International Pcl (THAI.BK) is jetting into regional markets with a budget airline operated with Singapore’s Tiger Airways Holdings.

“The low cost market is growing very fast,” Thai Air President Piyasavasti Amranand told a news conference on Monday, confirming the alliance. “This is a chance to help fill the hole before we lose more opportunities to rivals.”

Thai Air, Tiger plan budget carrier as travel surges

Tiger Airways Holdings, the budget carrier part-owned by Singapore Airlines, will ally with Thai Airways International Pcl to form a new low-fare carrier amid rising demand for leisure travel in Asia.

Thai Tiger Airways Pte is due to start operations in the first quarter of next year, pending regulatory approvals, Tiger Air said in a stock exchange statement today. Thai Air, Southeast Asia’s third most-valuable airline, and another local company will own a combined 51% of the venture, with the remainder held by Singapore-based Tiger Air.

Tiger Air and Thai Air to launch ‘Thai Tiger’ new low fare airline in Bangkok

Thai Airways International and Tiger Airways Holdings has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a new low fare airline called Thai Tiger Airways Private Limited.

The new airline will operate the same low-fare, low-cost model as the other airlines in the Tiger Airways Group, and is expected to start operations in the first quarter of 2011, pending regulatory approvals.

Think Environmental wins $19.6m Thai biomass power plant contract

The Think Environmental announced that its subsidiary Industrial Power Technology Pte Ltd (IPT) and its associated company, Industrial Power (Thailand) Co. have signed an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) contract with Surin Bio Power worth $19.6 million to build a rice husk fired biomass power plant in the Surin Province in Thailand.
