Asian Micro’s Thai unit to supply 100 CNG-powered prime movers for $9.4m

Asian Micro Holdings says subsidiary Asian Micro NGV Autosales (Thailand) Co. has received a purchase order for the supply of 100 units of compressed natural gas-powered prime mover from Thai-incorporated Advance Alliance Logistic Co, a logistics and transportation company.

Asian Micro NGV Autosales will deliver 10 units of CNG prime movers to AAL next February for 22 million baht ($0.94 million). The remaining 90 units will be delivered later.

UOB Kay Hian’s Thai unit rises to 17-month high on acquisition

UOB Kay Hian Securities (Thailand) Pcl, a Thai brokerage unit of Singapore-based UOB-Kay Hian Holdings, rose to its highest level in 17 months in Bangkok trading after the company announced a plan to buy the brokerage business of Merchant Partners Securities Co.

The shares jumped 5.9% to 3.94 baht ($0.17) as of 10:02 a.m. local time, set for their highest close since July 11, 2008. The stock was the best performer in the benchmark SET Index.

Man City To Sign Thai Footballers?

BANGKOK – English Premiership club Manchester City, owned by ousted Thai
prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, plan to sign three Thai players,
according to Vittaya Khunpleum, chairman of Thai side Chonburi FC.

City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, who took the helm after Thaksin bought
the club in July, is due to arrive in Thailand on Friday to make the
signings, Vittaya said.

Two of the players – Suree Sukha (picture) and Kietprawut Sai-aeo – come
from his club, while the other player is Theerasil Daengda from Bangkok’s
Muangthong-Nongchok United FC.

Vittaya hailed it as a chance to showcase Asian and Thai football.

Thaksin bought City for US$162.6 million ($235 million) and his team are
currently third in the Premiership. – AFP
