ARA Trust Management (Suntec), as manager of Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust (Suntec REIT), says HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore), as trustee of Suntec REIT, has entered into a conditional share purchase agreement with Choicewide Group, Cavell Limited and Hutchison Whampoa Properties to acquire a one-third interest in Marina Bay Financial Centre Towers 1 and 2, the Marina Bay Link Mall and 695 car park lots  through the acquisition of one-third of the issued share capital of BFC Development.

Keppel Land up after divesting properties

Singapore’s third-largest property developer Keppel Land <KLAN.SI> opened 2.2% higher on Tuesday after divesting part of its stake in some properties in Singapore’s CBD for about US$1 billion ($1.31 billion). At around 0105 GMT, Keppel Land shares were traded at $4.18, having touched its highest since May 2008 at $4.23. Over 1.7 million shares changed hands.

Keppel Land sold its one-third interest in the city-state’s Marina Bay Financial Centre Towers and Marina Bay Link Mall to its real estate trust in a deal valued at about $1.427 billion.

Keppel Land sells part of Marina Bay properties to trust

Singapore’s third largest property developer Keppel Land (KLAN.SI) said it divested a one-third interest in the city-state’s Marina Bay Financial Centre Towers and Marina Bay Link Mall to its real estate trust.

The deal value including rentals is about $1.427 billion , Keppel Land said in a statement, adding the sale will yield a net gain of $321 million.

 
As part of the asset swap, Keppel Land also agreed to buy two properties, Keppel Towers and GE Tower, for $573 million from its property trust, K-REIT (KASA.SI).

8Telecom secures $4m of orders from China Mobile for its new range of telescopic towers

Mainboard-listed 8Telecom International Holdings Co., the manufacturer and solutions provider of telecommunication infrastructures and emerging property developer in China, says it recently secured a RMB20.0 million ($4 million) contract to supply 80 telescopic towers to China Mobile Group Hubei Company.

The contract is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and provides a significant boost to the group’s telecommunication towers segment which recorded RMB65.0 million of sales in 1H2010.

8Telecom says the contract will increase the group’s current telecommunication towers order book from RMB45.0 million to RMB65.0 million, which would be fulfilled by the end of the year.

The group currently has a total capacity of 500 telescopic towers per annum and should be able to maintain its utilisation rate at above 60% in the remaining period of this year with the contract.

OUE acquires DBS Towers for $870.5m

Overseas Union Enterprise (OUE) says wholly-owned subsidiary, Total Apex Limited, has entered into a conditional sale & purchase agreement to acquire the 99-year leasehold DBS Towers One and Two for $870.5 million.

DBS Towers is a prime office building located in Shenton Way, at the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD).

Built in 1975, DBS Tower One was then the tallest building in Singapore and the first to incorporate a covered walkway around the entire city block. Together with DBS Tower Two, the 37-storey skyscraper comprises a total gross floor area (GFA) of 1,239,642 sq ft. Both towers are currently fully leased.

OUE says the acquisition will be funded by a combination of internal funds and debt facility to be arranged by Standard Chartered Bank. Standard Chartered Bank is the financial advisor to OUE for this acquisition.
