The union of employees in administration and social organizations will take strike action if they are not included in talks on public administration reform. The trade unions warn that they will hold mass strikes and work stoppages if the government axes 14,000 jobs in the public sector without consulting them.

Smederevo-based U.S. Steel Serbia will sack 206 of its administration workers who will are considered to be “technological surplus”. According to a recently singed annex to the collective agreement, harmonized between the management and unions, the workers have been divided into three groups.
