Private placement units in Suntec REIT more than 5 times oversubscribed, $149m raised
ARA Trust Management (Suntec), the manager of Suntec REIT, says the private placement of 128.5 million new Suntec REIT units have been fully subscribed at an issue price of $1.19 each.
The issue price represents a discount of 6.5% to the volume weighted average price of $1.2724 per unit in Suntec REIT and 4.6% to the adjusted volume weighted average price of $1.2475 per unit for trades done for the full market day on Dec 10.
Suntec REIT to private place out 128.5m new units to raise at least $147.3m in net proceeds
Suntec REIT, one of two Singapore-traded REITs controlled by Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing, is proposing to issue 128.5 million new units by way of a private placement at an issue price of between $1.16 and $1.19 each.
The price represents a discount of as much as 9.4% to the shares’ closing price yesterday. Trading in the stock has been suspended today for the announcement.
Apple iPhone Sells 100,000 Units in China
Reports say Apple sold around 100,000 iPhones in China through partner China Unicom. Apple is also apparently in negotiations with China Mobile to expand the reach of the device, which China Unicom launched on Oct. 30. While iPhone sales have been relatively weak in China, the smartphone continues to post strong numbers in the U.S. market, although the iPhone’s burgeoning success has also led to calls for tighter regulation of its App Store. Earlier in December, Apple yanked apps from a Chinese developer that was accused of giving its products fake positive reviews.

KS Energy Services takes units Aqua-Terra and SSH private with help of PE firm Actis
KS Energy Services today announced a proposal to consolidate its Oil & Gas and Marine distribution services business together with the businesses of its subsidiary, Aqua-Terra Supply Co., and its associated company, SSH Corporation, through separate schemes of arrangement. When completed, all the distribution businesses will be held under a newly incorporated company – KS Distribution Pte Ltd.
The proposed business consolidation will be funded by KS Energy and Actis, a leading private equity investor in emerging markets. Actis will contribute cash of $142 million and KS Energy will contribute new KS Energy shares. Upon completion, KS Distribution will be 55% owned by KS Energy and 44.375% owned by Actis and its affiliates. The remaining 0.625% will be held by the future CEO of KS Distribution.

Private equity firm Actis today said it will invest $142 million to form an oil and gas equipment distribution joint venture with Singapore’s KS Energy Services (KSTL.SI) that will have operations in China and Southeast Asia.
The deal — with an enterprise value of $320 million — will involve Actis putting up the cash and KS Energy taking private its two Singapore-listed units by buying out minority shareholders.
Roxy-Pacific Holdings buys remainder 14 strata residential units in Kovan Centre for $18.3m
Roxy-Pacific Holdings says wholly-owned subsidiary RP Properties has agreed to purchase all 14 strata residential units at Kovan Centre at 9 Yio Chu Kang Road for $18.3 million. This adds to the 37 retail units it already owns in the same building.
Ninety units at its Marina Bay Suites sold at between $2,200–$2,500
Marina Bay Financial Centre, a joint venture involving Keppel Land (KLAN.SI), Hongkong Land (HKLD.SI) and Cheung Kong (0001.HK), said late yesterday it sold 90 units at its Marina Bay Suites development in the central business district. The units sold for between $2,200 and $2,500 per square foot, higher than recently the transacted prices for apartments at neighbouring projects, according to local press reports.

MI-REIT issues 221m new units to AMP Capital Investment and Cornerstone Investments, raising $62m
The manager of MacarthurCook Industrial REIT says a total of 221,428,572 new units have been issued to AMP Capital Investment and Cornerstone Investments (including AIMS Investment) at 28 cents each, raising gross proceeds of $62 million. With the issue of the new placement units, the total number of MI-REIT units in issue is now 487,813,666.
