President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy was visiting Serbia and was expected to “confirm the Western Balkans’ European perspective”, said reports.
Van Rompuy is in Belgrade this Monday where he has met with Serbian President Boris Tadić.

Van Rompuy expressed satisfaction in the fact that the interim trade part of Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) has taken effect, adding that he fully supports the integration of Serbia and the Western Balkans into the EU.
Brammertz meets with EU President
Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz held an unofficial meeting with EU President Herman Van Rompuy. Although the contents of the meeting were not disclosed, Van Rompuy’s spokesperson said that the two discussed Hague cooperation and the countries of the former Yugoslavia, but added that the details of the meeting cannot be made public.
