The Jayhawks: 2011 Tour Dates; New Album on the Way

TOUR STARTS JANUARY 18 IN TORONTO


The Jayhawks

Following last year’s release of a new album (Ready For the Flood) from The Jayhawks‘ founding members
Mark Olson and Gary Louris, and the American/Legacy release of the Jayhawks’ first career-
spanning anthology (Music From The North Country), comes word that the band is set to play five major
cities in
January, 2011.

The tour dates will celebrate the reissue of the band’s first two classic albums for American Recordings –
Hollywood Town Hall (1992) and Tomorrow The Green Grass (1995) – now expanded with a wealth
of rare bonus tracks. In New York and Chicago the Jayhawks are playing two nights; the first night the band will play
Hollywood Town Hall in its entirety, the second night will be devoted to Tomorrow The Green
Grass. Additional fan favorites will be played each night.

01/20, 21 New York, NY Webster Hall
01/22 Philadelphia, PA TLA
01/27, 28 Chicago, IL The Vic
01/29 Minneapolis, MN First Avenue

The band’s lineup for these dates will comprise Gary Louris (guitar, vocals), Mark Olson
(guitar, vocals), Marc Perlman (bass), Karen Grotberg (keyboards) and Tim O’Reagan
(drums).

Rolling Stone has just confirmed that the classic lineup of the Jayhawks are recording their first studio album in 15

announced dates for their reunion tour featuring the “classic 1993-1996″ lineup of vocalist Robert Pollard,
guitarists Tobin Sprout and Mitch Mitchell, bassist Greg Demos, and drummer
Kevin Fennell. The tour begins September 30 in Austin, TX and swings through LA, SF, Portland, Chicago,

Google Android 2.2 Open-Sourced with Key Enterprise, Cloud APIs

Google June 23 launched Android 2.2 to open source, enabling coders to make applications that take advantage of enterprise capabilities and new APIs that leverage Google’s cloud computing assets. Andy Rubin, the vice president of engineering for Google, announced the open-sourcing of Android 2.2 at the launch of the Motorola Droid X smartphone in New York City June 23. The Droid X will launch to consumers July 15, and Motorola Co-CEO Sanjay Jha said that the device will get an over-the-air upgrade to Android 2.2 later this summer. – Google June 23
