Tom Waits Vinyl Releases

CELEBRATE THE CLASSIC ASYLUM YEARS ON VINYL

Tom Waits

After signing with Asylum Records in the early 70′s, Tom Waits recorded a series of groundbreaking albums whose noir tales
of the after-midnight underworld transformed the seedy into the sublime in songs laced with both dark humor and
profound longing. Nearly 40 years and several musical evolutions later, Waits’ Asylum years still hold a special place
in the hearts of many.

Rhino will celebrate Waits this December by reissuing the Grammy-winning/Oscar nominated artists’ first four
Asylum albums on 180-gram heavy vinyl each packaged with their original artwork. Released on December 21 at
retail outlets, including www.rhino.com

Ahead of the general December 21 Rhino retail release, TomWaits.com is offering limited edition 180 gram red vinyl versions of
Closing Time, The Heart of Saturday Night, Nighthawks at the Diner and Small Change. Those who
pre-order by December 18 should have their packages arrive by December 24.

The red vinyl limited editions (only 1000 pressed of each title) will be available exclusively at www.tomwaitsstore.com and are available for pre-order now.

Grateful Dead Warner Bros. Vinyl Box

AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 21 FROM GRATEFUL DEAD/RHINO; DELUXE BOX SET FEATURES FIVE WARNER
BROS. RECORDS STUDIO ALBUMS

Grateful Dead

Between 1967 and 1970, the Grateful
Dead
recorded five studio albums for Warner Bros. Records that formed the psychedelic canon on which
the band’s live legend was built. The albums spotlighted the early core lineup of Jerry Garcia, Ron “Pigpen”
McKernan, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann,
and Mickey Hart.

Grateful Dead and Rhino will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Workingman’s Dead and American
Beauty
with The Warner Bros. Studio Albums, a five-LP boxed set available on September 21.
The collection contains The Grateful Dead (1967), Workingman’s Dead, and American Beauty (1970), plus
the original mixes for Anthem Of The Sun (1968) and Aoxomoxoa (1969), available on vinyl for the
first time in nearly 40 years.

Available for a list price of $134.98, the set offers detailed replicas of the original albums housed in a hard-shell
case that protects and stores the music with the accompanying 12″ x 12″ book including unpublished photos and
new liner notes by Blair Jackson. To ensure the highest degree of quality, the albums were pressed on 180-gram
vinyl at RTI using lacquers cut from the original analog masters by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering.

Those who pre-order from Dead.net will receive an exclusive reproduction of a rare 1968 7″ single (in a picture
sleeve) that features the studio version of “Dark Star” (b/w “Born Cross-Eyed”) that clocks in at a concise 2:38.
Dead.net pre-orders also receive a reproduction of a rare 1967 promotional poster for the first album from the
Warner Bros. Records archive.

The original mixes for Anthem of the Sun and Aoxomoxoa—featured here for the first time since they were released
—went out of circulation in 1972 and 1971 respectively. Garcia and Lesh revisited Aoxomoxoa two years after its
release in an effort to cut through the dense mix, which was a result of the band’s extensive experimenting in the
studio with one of the first 16-track recorders. The overhaul changed the album’s sound significantly, including the
end of “Doin’ That Rag,” which originally closed with an a cappella vocal coda that was later removed.

Modest Mouse The Moon & Antarctica Reissue On Vinyl 4/17

MODEST MOUSE CELEBRATE THE 10th ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOON & ANTARCTICA

WITH LONG AWAITED VINYL REISSUE OF LANDMARK ALBUM ON APRIL 17

Modest Mouse

Epic/Legacy Recordings will celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Moon & Antarctica, the highly
acclaimed major label debut from American indie rock band Modest Mouse, with the long
awaited vinyl reissue of the landmark album on April 17.

Out-of-print on vinyl for the past five years, 12″ copies of The Moon & Antarctica have become prized
collector’s items.

Available in time for Record Store Day 2010, The Moon & Antarctica, newly-struck on 12″ heavy double
vinyl, has been remastered using the band-approved 2004 CD master. The album features restored original artwork
and replicates the infinite lock groove found in the original vinyl pressings of 2000. The new vinyl reissue includes a
download card for The Moon & Antarctica.

Recorded from July through November 1999, The Moon & Antarctica, the third Modest Mouse album, was
first released on both vinyl and CD in June 2000. A milestone for the band and a sublime presence on the
American pop music landscape, The Moon & Antarctica turned up on many year-end best-of lists.

The highly influential Pitchfork Media ranked the album #3 for 2000, #7 for 2000-2004, and #6 for the decade
(2000-2010). Better Propaganda named The Moon & Antarctica #23 for the decade, Rhapsody ranked it #4
on their Alt/Indie’s Best Albums of the Decade” list and Entertainment Weekly, who ranked it #37 (out of 100) in
“The New Classics” list (from 1983-2008) calling the “…major-label debut from the Northwest indie heroes…an
angular, experimental treasure….”

A success in both the mainstream and the underground, The Moon & Antarctica was certified gold by the
RIAA as of March 9, 2009.
