Yeasayer: 2010 Tour Dates

YEASAYER TO TOUR IN SUPPORT OF ODD BLOOD

Yeasayer

Yeasayer is pleased to announce a full U.S. tour beginning in April to support their fantastic upcoming full-length, Odd Blood. This follows three U.S. dates in February – a performance at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles and two already sold old shows in New York City, at Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Odd Blood will be available February 9 via Secretly Canadian (Mute elsewhere). First brewed in the frosty hills of Woodstock, NY at the Marotta lair, then transferred to the steely sweeps of NYC, Odd Blood took many layers to finalize, but with all things Yeasayer the outcome is spectacular. Filled with the band’s own take on pop pleasures and experimentation, the band has once again carved its own path through that ice cold glacier that is modern pop/rock.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: New Album and Tour Announced

BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB TAKES FIFTH STUDIO ALBUM INTO OWN HANDS
Beat The Devil’s Tattoo Due March 9, 2010 via Own Abstract Dragon/Vagrant Records

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is revving up to unleash their fifth studio album, Beat The Devil’s Tattoo, on March 9, 2010, signifying the band’s first full-length on their own Abstract Dragon, in partnership with Vagrant Records. This album welcomes exciting beginnings, including new drummer Leah Shapiro, as well as their new label, though the trio returned to the familiar setting of Philadelphia, PA to pen this record. They wrote and recorded it in the very studio that produced their widely acclaimed third LP, Howl, before returning to hometown L.A. to add the finishing touches.

The band’s accustomed globetrotting will recommence with an initial headline tour, kicking off February 26 in Sacramento and culminating at New York City’s Webster Hall on April 8. Pre-sale for all shows will start Wednesday, December 2, available here.

Known for their impassioned live performances, the band recently offered a two DVD, one CD set aptly titled, Live (Abstract Dragon/Vagrant), earlier this month. The DVDs feature more than two hours of concert footage captured from three sold out shows in Berlin, Dublin, and Glasgow, and chronicles the end of the band’s 2007 tour in support of Baby 81. Additionally, it includes intimate, behind-the-scenes footage, glimpses into the making of 2005′s Howl, and is rounded out with a bonus live album featuring 14 songs.

MIIKE SNOW ANNOUNCE FULL NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINING TOUR THIS SPRING

Tour Dates Kick Off March 22 In Atlanta and Continue Through April 15 in San Francisco

Miike Snow

Following their wildly successful tour throughout North America this fall, the Downtown Records/Universal Republic trio Miike Snow are eagerly returning to the U.S. in Spring 2010 for their second headlining tour. The tour begins March 22 in Atlanta and continues across the country, wrapping up April 15 in San Francisco.

Receiving great reception for their live translations of the highly refined electronic compositions featured on their self-titled debut, the combination of Swedish producers and multi-instrumentalists Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg, along with New York-based songwriter Andrew Wyatt, expand on their dynamic sound with a six-piece band.

The songs of Miike Snow have recently been featured on primetime TV: twice on the third season of Gossip Girl, with “Plastic Jungle” ushering in the new season and “Animal” closing out the third episode with it’s now widely known anthemic chorus. The band is now gearing up for their follow-up single to the groundbreaking debut of “Animal” with “Silvia,” an ode that follows its’ predecessors pop intelligence.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart: EP, Single and Tour

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Announce

Higher Than The Stars EP Plus The Single Come Saturday

Not content to rest on the laurels of having one of the best and most talked-about albums of 2009, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are back with the Higher Than The Stars. The EP features four brand-new songs that do what the band does best – breathe fresh life into indie-pop with their exuberance, charm and of course quality tunes.

Higher Than The Stars races along on arpeggiated keyboards and quickly strummed guitars, a perfect pop
nugget that could be ripped from Robert Smith‘s songbook. Its unstoppable energy is pure Pains, though,
and the band hopes to see a lot of ear-to-ear grins when the band busts the EP out on tour.

Return Of Os Mutantes

Os Mutantes Announce North American Tour

In Support Of Haih or Amortecedor Their First Album In 35 Years

Os Mutantes

Os Mutantes have announced a tour of North America in support of their new album Haih or Amortecedor. Seeing the legendary “Tropicália” band live is something Kurt Cobain could have only wished for when he pleaded (unsuccessfully) for them to reunite and tour with Nirvana. Now Brazil’s beloved Mutantes, long regarded as one of the most influential and innovative bands in pop music, have returned with both an ambitious new album and a series of highly anticipated performances. Revered by musical luminaries, the reunited Mutantes offer something far more intriguing than mere psychedelic nostalgia. While the ingenious genre blending Tropicália spirit remains intact on Haih or Amortecedor, it’s clear the Mutantes are not looking to the past, but ahead into further uncharted musical terrain.

Band leader Sergio Dias says he is eager to translate the epic Mutante sound on stage. “I love playing this music live,” Dias says. “It is the best thing possible. When we were playing at the Pitchfork festival it was like looking at yourself when you were a kid trying to mumble the words to “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” in English and not understanding the words. There weren’t many Brazilians there but the kids were singing our songs in Portuguese. Playing with this band live is amazing. I can not describe anything better other than maybe going into space. It keeps me young.”
