SEEMO announces 2010 awards

The winner of the 2010 Dr. Erhard Busek-SEEMO Award for Better Understanding in South East Europe. The international 11-member jury chose veteran journalist and editor Omer Karabeg, in recognition of his continuous and outstanding contribution to better communication, exchange and cooperation in South East Europe, and especially in the West Balkan region, said a statement.

“U.S. supports Balkans’ Euro-Atlantic integrations”

U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Stuart Jones says that West Balkan countries could count on help from Washington. Jones stated that U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration was not pressuring any country, but that all countries that wanted to join Euro-Atlantic community could count on Washington’s wholehearted support and help.

Spanish FM: Serbia crucial in region

Spanish FM Miguel Angel Moratinos said in Vienna on Tuesday that Serbia is a crucial country in the West Balkan region. He added that Madrid supports its request for receiving the candidate status for EU accession.

Jeremić meets with Slovenian counterpart

Slovenia’s Foreign Minister Samuel Žbogar held talks in Belgrade this Wednesday with his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremić. He said the accession of Serbia and other West Balkan countries to the European Union was one of the most important interests of his country.
