Sembcorp Marine unit wins $477.4m order for two rigs plus options

Sembcorp Marine said a unit won a contract for two jack-up rigs worth as much as US$364 million ($477.4 million), with three additional options for rigs valued at up to US$200 million each, according to a stock-exchange statement.
 
Atwood Oceanics Pacific, a unit of Houston-based Atwood Oceanics Inc., placed the orders and the options, Singapore-based Sembcorp Marine said in the statement today.

Singapore’s Sembcorp Marine wins $477.8m contract

Sembcorp Marine (SCMN.SI), the world’s second-biggest oil-rig builder, said on Tuesday its
subsidiary secured two $364 million ($477.8 million) contract to build two jack-up rigs with options for another 3 from Houston-based Atwood Oceanics Pacific.

JES International up on contract wins

Shares of Singapore-listed Chinese shipbuilder JES International <JSIH.SI> rose as much as 5.6% today after it said had won orders to construct a total of 8 bulk carriers for several shipping companies.

At 9:59 a.m., shares of JES were trading at $0.375 on a volume of 13.9 million shares. The contract values were not disclosed, but the vessels are expected to be delivered over 2011 and 2012, the firm said in a statement.

Deutsche Bank wins order for Singapore end to Indonesia dispute

Deutsche Bank AG won a court order that a company controlled by two of Indonesia’s richest men must end legal attempts outside Singapore to regain pledged shares that Germany’s biggest bank sold.

Beckkett, controlled by Sukanto Tanoto and Hashim Djojohadikusumo, can’t pursue duplicate proceedings after six years in the Singapore courts, Singapore High Court Judge Judith Prakash said in a ruling made public today.

Beng Kuang Marine wins contract to build Indonesian patrol craft for $19m

Beng Kuang Marine says wholly-owned subsidiary, PT Nexus Engineering Indonesia, has secured a contract with Indonesia’s Ministry of Transport to construct and deliver one patrol vessel class 1-A. The value of the contract is Indonesian Rupiah 125.3 billion ($19 million). The contract is expected to commence in October 2010 and to be completed in March 2012.

Keppel says unit wins US$101m contracts for drilling rigs

Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI) said on Thursday its unit Keppel FELS has won two contracts worth $101 million ($132.7 million) for completing and refurbishing two semi-submersible drilling rigs.

The rigs will be refurbshed for Italy’s Saipem SpA (SPMI.MI) and U.S. oil drilling contractor Ensco Plc (ESV.N).

Hor Kew Corp wins $156m HDB contract

Hor Kew Corporation says Hor Kew Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has been awarded a $156 million contract by the Housing & Development Board for the building works at Queenstown Planning Area Dawson Contract 1. The contract is scheduled to start next month and is expected to complete by February 2015.

Standard Chartered wins Singapore investment suit dismissal

Standard Chartered Plc won dismissal of a Singapore lawsuit by four persons claiming the bank misled them into buying certain investment products after a judge ruled there was a risk the trial may not be fair.
 
Singapore High Court Judge Tay Yong Kwang took the “draconian measure” of throwing out the complaint by Lee Chang Rung and three of his relatives, according to the Sept. 17 ruling made public today. Lee, his brother, sister and brother- in-law concealed certain documents including not fully disclosing their previous investments in structured products to gain an “unfair tactical advantage,” Tay said.

Sinopipe wins $60m contract to supply, install pipes in Heilongjiang province

Sinopipe Holdings, the manufacturer of plastic pipes and pipe fittings, announced today that it has, through its 99.1% owned subsidiary, Fujian Aton Advanced Materials Science and Technology won a contract to supply and installation of drainage and sewerage pipes and pipe fittings in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang province,

The Jiamusi project is estimated to be worth RMB300 million ($60 million) in total construction and development fees.

Cosco unit wins $68m in contracts to build 2 bulk carriers

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., a unit of the company’s 51% owned subsidiary, Cosco Shipyard Group Co., has secured contracts valued over US$51 million ($68 million) to build two bulk carriers of 57,000 dwt and 35,000 dwt. The contracts are effective following receipt of the initial deposits from the European ship owner.

The bulk carriers which will be built at Cosco (Guangdong) shipyards are scheduled for deliveries in August 2012 and December 2012 respectively.

SembMarine wins upgrading and repair contracts worth $110m

Sembcorp Marine says subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured major upgrading and repair contracts worth $110 million.

Sembawang Shipyard, the ship repairer of cruise ships in the Far East, was recently awarded two upgrading contracts for passenger/ferry ships.

The first contract involves an upgrading project from Interislander, a division of Kiwirail, New Zealand for the lengthening and dry-docking repairs of its Ro-Pax Ferry, Aratere.

ST Electronics wins $29m contract in smart meter market

ST Engineering’s electronics arm, ST Electronics, today announced that its subsidiary, Telematics Wireless, has been awarded a contract worth US$21.5million ($29 million) by Arad Technologies to supply Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) radio transceivers for Arad’s Dialog 3G AMR solutions.

The supply cooperation agreement between Arad and Telematics Wireless takes effect immediately and extends to 2015. Telematics Wireless is a subsidiary of ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems).

Sinopipe wins $20m Build and Transfer contract in Luoyang city

Sinopipe Holdings, the designer and manufacturer of plastic pipes and pipe fittings, announced that, through it’s 99.1% owned subsidiary, Fujian Aton Advanced Materials Science and Technology Co., signed a Build-and-Transfer contract with the municipal government of Mengjin county of Luoyang city in Henan province.

Yongnam wins $25m MRT Downtown Line 2 contract

Yongnam Holdings, the structural steel contractor and specialist civil engineering solutions provider, has been awarded its first contract for the MRT Downtown Line 2 (DTL 2) valued at $25 million.

The 16.6km long Downtown Line 2 comprises of one depot and 12 stations including three interchange stations. DTL 2 will link to the North-East Line, the North-South Line and the Circle line.

Yongnam says the contract comprises the constructiion of a Cut and Cover Tunnel and the Tan Kah Kee station.

OKP wins $1.1m contract for Jurong Island reclamation works

OKP Holdings, the infrastructure and civil engineering firm, today announced that it has won a $1.1 million contract for land reclamation works on Jurong Island.

OKP says the contract was awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Or Kim Peow Contractors. Work on the foreshore reclamation project has already begun and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

KLW wins $4.2m contract to supply doors to Abu Dhabi

Door manufacturer KLW Holdings says it has secured an order worth US$3.1 million ($4.2 million) from one of UK’s leading construction companies to supply doors to the Al Muneera development in Abu Dhabi. This mixed-used development comprises eight multi-storey residential buildings; 11 villas; 142 town houses; and two retail areas with sub-basements.

Sinotel wins $5m per annum China Telecom deal

Sinotel Technologies, the provider of wireless telecommunications infrastructure and solutions in China, says the grouo has inked a contract with Beijing Tong Lian Da Communications Technology to provide base station monitoring and diagnostics services to China Telecom worth RMB25.3 million ($5 million) per annum.

The system will monitor and diagnose the performance of some 35,000 base stations and generate data and key indicators for evaluation on a timely basis. Some of its capabilities are the ability to report faults, downtime, call-drop frequencies and signal strengths with the aim to improve network coverage thereby enhancing end-user’s experience.

Chip Eng Seng unit wins Punggol Field EC development with $142m bid

Chip Eng Seng Corporation says wholly-owned subsidiary CES Engineering and Construction has been informed by Punggol Field EC that its $142 million bid for building works has been accepted.

Punggol Field EC is a 40% and 60% joint venture between CEL Development Pte Ltd and Choicehomes Investments respectively.
