Serbia requests extradition of Nazi criminal

Serbia sent Friday its formal request to the U.S. for the extradition of Peter Egner, Justice Minister Snežana Malović told Tanjug.

Egner, a naturalized American citizen, is suspected of serving in a Nazi unit that killed around 17,000 Jewish and other civilians during World War II.

Russia introduces anti-Nazi resolution to UN

Russia has introduced to the UN a draft resolution condemning the glorification of Nazism and the desecration of World War II monuments. The UN General Assembly committee on social and humanitarian issues will vote on the document at the beginning of next week. The UN General Assembly, which usually supports the decision of the committee, will look at the resolution in mid-December.

Mass grave uncovered in Slovenia

A mass grave with the bodies of about 700 people killed after World War II was uncovered in northern Slovenia. This was confirmed by the Chief of the Slovenian Government’s Commission for the Exhumation of Mass Graves, Marko Štrovs.
