Russia’s Foreign Ministry has condemned Georgia for its demolition of a WW2 memorial in Georgia calling it a provocation to the international community. An eight-year-old girl and her mother were killed during Saturday’s demolition of the Glory Memorial in Kutaisi, when explosives used to topple the structure sent large chunks of concrete hurtling into a residential area.

Georgian opposition protests removal of WW2 memorial
Georgian opposition parties are protesting a government decision to take down a huge World War II memorial complex in the city of Kutaisi. Opposition leaders and activists gathered today at the memorial complex, which was built in Soviet times to commemorate the victims and veterans of World War II.
WW2 outbreak marked in Belgrade
Wreaths have been laid at the Yugoslav-Polish League memorial in Belgrade to mark the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 2. Wreaths were laid by Labor State Secretary Zoran Martinović, Belgrade Mayor Dragan Äilas amd Polish Charge d’Affaires Pawel Czerwinski.
Cvetković in Poland for WW2 commemorations
The PM will attend a ceremony in Gdansk commemorating the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of WW2 at the invitation of Polish PM Donald Tusk, the govt. says. At the event, Mirko Cvetković will have informal meetings with senior officials of other countries in attendance.
